Lauri Mae Garrison July 14, 1960 – July 11, 2026
Shane and Lauri were joined in marriage of July 31st, 2004, bringing together a beautifully blended family that has continued to grow over the years.
Lauri had many interests and careers throughout her life, but those that she was most passionate about always involved caring for others. She spent a large portion of her life working in some aspects of the service industry, always offering a listening ear and hard-earned wisdom to those who wanted it. She was dedicated, not only to caring for her own children and grandchildren, but also to any child who crossed her path and needed some extra love. Lauri owned a secondhand store that, with the help of her GREAT nephews Jason and Garrett, was lovingly named This and That. Her store was where she made many friends that she cherished dearly. In her “spare” time (which we aren’t really sure how she managed to have any with all of the things she took on), she loved to read, sew, craft… especially with her grandchildren. Above all, she tried to live her life in a way that prepared her for the coming of her Savior, Jesus, and to witness to others so that they too would be prepared. She loved completely, cared deeply, lived passionately, and tried to never judge. She was willing to do whatever she could to make sure that those she loved were cared for and did the same for any stranger in need that she came across. (Although it can be argued that she never really met a stranger.) She believed that nothing could take her from this life until she was ready for the trip home. She is now resting peacefully, waiting for that beautiful journey when Christ returns.
Lauri is survived by her loving husband Shane, their children Michael (Carole); Victoria; Luke (Stephanie); Justin; Chelsi (Drew); Krysty; and grand-blessings Caleb, Jade, Kyara, Wyatt (Araceli), Trevor, Brooke, Marley, Cash, Ava, Myranda, LeLand, Tyrin, Camron, Caylib (Sam), great grandchildren, and her bonus blessings Thane and Eliott (who was by her side through countless adventures), her sister Cheronne Edwards (the kindest, most giving person she knew) and her husband Philip, as well as her nieces and nephews Randi, Vanessa, Thomas, Alex, and Devon. Lauri also leaves behind her dearest friends Teresa, Barb, Rick, Janice, Shelley, Chad, Bruce and Bobbi, who over the years helped her make some of her most wonderful memories, and who stayed by her side through some of the darkest nights and brightest days.
Lauri chose to forego a traditional service, and asks that in lieu of cards or flowers, that you make a donation to the childhood cancer prevention non-profit of your choice. Her favorites were CureSearch and St. Jude’s. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when the family is ready to do so.
You can also donate by mail. Send a check to:
