Kathryn Ruth Parmley, 95, passed away peacefully at BeeHive Homes Assisted Living in Grand Junction, Colorado on February 5, 2026. A longtime resident of Loveland, Colorado, having moved to Grand Junction in 2017 to be closer to family.
Born to Lyman and Ruth (Cole) Greene at her grandparent’s home in Wray, Colorado, she was raised on Steads Guest Ranch located outside of Estes Park in the Moraine Basin within Rocky Mountain National Park. Her family relocated to Loveland in 1945 where Kathryn graduated from Loveland High School in 1948. It was in Loveland that she met Forrest Parmley and were married on December 11, 1949. They continued to live and raise a family in Loveland, having two sons.
Kathryn worked in secretarial positions, primarily with the Thompson Valley School District. The most important things in her life were family, her faith and many dear friends. She enjoyed serving in various capacities as an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church. Being a lifelong lover of the outdoors, Kathryn and Forrest treasured the times they had camping, fishing, sightseeing/travel and family gatherings.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Forrest and her brother Charles Greene. Surviving family includes sons David Parmley (Kathy) of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Dennis Parmley (Becky) of Kent, Washington as well as her four grandchildren, Emy Keeling (Gary), Andrew Parmley (Lindsay), Nicholas Parmley and Shannon Baerwolf (Ryan). A graveside memorial service at Loveland Burial Park will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to HopeWest of the Grand Valley in Grand Junction can be made at HopeWestCO.org.
