Janet Jane (Williams) Fuehrer was born December 7, 1936, in Toledo, OH to Ralph E. Williams and Selina (Cuthbertson) Williams and passed away March 28, 2026, in Grand Junction, CO. Jan was a 1955 graduate of Morrison R. Waite High School. She married the love of her life, William (Bill) Jesse Fuehrer on July 13, 1957.
Janet and Bill moved to Perrysburg, OH in 1973 to raise their children. After raising their children, Jan went to college and began her career in business administration.
In May 1980, she graduated from Michael J. Owens Technical College, Toledo, OH with an Associate Degree in Business with a Major in Executive Secretarial. She worked in the Owens campus Career Placement Office while completing her education and continued working there until her husband retired. Soon thereafter, they moved to Colorado Springs, CO in the mid-1980s to be near their children who had moved to Colorado.
The following 18 years, she held multiple positions while working for Colorado Springs Utilities. In May 1990 she completed her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at Regis College while working for the utility department.
Following Jan’s retirement, she moved with Bill to Sun City Grand in Surprise, AZ and they enjoyed the socialization and opportunities offered by the adult living community. They eventually moved back to Colorado Springs and then to Grand Junction, CO where they were near one of their daughters.
Jan was full of warmth and affection, had a very loving heart and truly loved life! She decorated every room in her house for every holiday and enjoyed hosting many family and neighborhood get-togethers. She also loved hiking, downhill skiing, and preparing and sharing gourmet picnics.
Jan was actively involved in ski clubs, hiking clubs, Toastmasters, Children’s Literacy, Zonta, and numerous churches in the communities where she resided.
Janet is survived by her children Diana Hall (Chris), Beth Harvey (Rick), and David Fuehrer (Carrie). She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, both parents and her brothers Richard Hereford and William Williams.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at La Villa Grande Care Center and HopeWest Hospice Care for the exceptional care that was given to Jan.
