Billy “Bill” Ray Ogden, 82, of Austin, Colorado, passed away at home on November 3, 2025, following a brief illness. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, on April 19, 1943, the youngest of six children of Florence (Williamson) and Horace Ogden.

He married the love of his life, Joyce Mansfield, on December 10, 1972. Together, they shared nearly 53 years of love, laughter, and purpose.

Bill was a man of many skills. He was a Navy Veteran, worked on drilling water wells, was a coal miner for Bear Coal Co., and farmed, welded, and cut wood. He was also a talented caterer and a pioneer in the Best of the West 4-H Shooting Sports program.

Bill loved fishing, hunting, gardening, shooting, and riding four-wheelers—but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He brought warmth and humor to every gathering and was known for his gentle, caring spirit.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce; his loving daughter, Kelli, and son-in-law, Shannon; his grandsons, Tristan (Kenna) and Toby; and his great-grandchildren, Rennan and Lennix. Several nieces and nephews as well. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Horace, and siblings Gene, Lloyd, Bob, Lula, and Lola.

“Though he is no longer with us, Bill’s love lives on in every seed planted, every fish caught, and every shared story around the table. We honor him today and always.”
