HopeWest has submitted a waiver request to the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment in regards to the COVID-19 vaccine requirements for staff, volunteers and contractors directly involved in patient care. The regulation in 6 CCR 1011-1 Chapter 2, Part 12 was passed by emergency rule on August 30, 2021. Part 12 requires that licenses health care facilities ensure 100% of the direct care staff, volunteers and contractors are either fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a medical exemption. HopeWest would like to also accept religious exemptions which would put us less than the required 100%. All unvaccinated staff would wear a mask, maintain 6 ft social distance except when providing care, and have a COVID test twice a week.

Any person who is interested in commenting on this waiver requrest may forward his/her comments by October 31, 2021 to: Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, Health Facilities Division – C1 – Waiver Program, 4300 Cherry Creek Drive South Denver, CO 80246-1530, and that persons wishing to be notified of the Department’s action on the waiver application may submit to the Department at the above address a written request for notification and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
