Marie Margaret Adams, age 96, died in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Friday, January 4, 2024. She passed away while holding the hand of a precious HopeWest volunteer. She was born May 14, 1927, in Jefferson County, Missouri, to Clarence and Amelia Jennewein. She was the oldest daughter of twelve children. She is survived by three sisters: Ann, Gladys, and Laverne. Marie attended Catholic school until eighth grade, then worked on the family farm. She had other jobs as a cashier in grocery stores, doing some waitressing, and being a licensed hairdresser.

Marie moved from Jefferson County, Missouri, to Colorado in 1970 and never looked back. Marie worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, in various positions as a caregiver for older people. She was also a foster grandparent through a St. Mary’s Hospital program for eighteen years, and for sixteen of those years, she volunteered hours at Kids of The Kingdom preschool at Northeast Christian Church. Marie also attended and volunteered at New Life Church. Her hobbies were camping, gardening, growing flowers, feeding the birds, and going on long walks. She loved children and gave many hours to help them to grow and thrive. Marie received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on August 25, 2002.

A memorial service is planned for February 9, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery at 2620 Legacy Lane, Grand Junction, Colorado.
