On November 18, our mom, Etta Lou Macdonell, died peacefully at the Veterans Care Center in Rifle, Colorado. She was born in Englewood, Colorado, on October 16, 1931, to Allen and Celia (Simmons)Buffington. Preceding her in death was her husband, George, her son, Bill, and her great-great-grandchild, Darby. Mom was a caring and loving Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great- Great Grandma. She attended schools at Red Cliff, Rifle, and DeBeque, Colorado.

Etta and George raised six children: Terry (Stuart) Bennett, Carol (Stephen) Burns, Max (Raelynn) Macdonell, Bill Rickstrew, Mary (Rob) DeBaca, and Becky Blanchard (Bob Boyer). She had seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great Grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were working in her beautiful flower garden, doing amazing needlepoint work, and having family gatherings.

Mom, we are glad you are no longer in pain, and the sadness is gone. We smile when we think of the wonderful, heavenly moment it must have been when you were reunited with your loving husband, son, and little dog, Snickers. Thank you, Mom, for all the love you shared with us. You will be missed more than words can express. Celebration of life will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Veterans Care Center, 851 E 5th Street, Rifle Co, 81650.
