HopeWest Meeker
The community of Meeker came together in 2013, dreaming of bringing services to this small town of 2,500 residents. They approached HopeWest and we agreed to open unique palliative care and grief support programs in the area. These programs replicate the way earlier programs in the 1970s started—offering care for free by relying on fundraising, volunteers, and collaboration with existing healthcare resources.
HopeWest Meeker staff and volunteers have cared for more than 100 families and friends since opening. Meeker children and teens receive grief support through our HopeWest Kids program. Adults in the community receive grief support from staff counselors, group education, and support groups.
