A Loving Tribute
Jon Allen Lindman
July 27, 1948 – April 15, 2025
Submitted by Sandra Lindman
Jon lived life with radiant passion. He found joy riding motorcycles across open roads with Sandra by his side, carving graceful lines while skiing down snowy mountains, hiking wild trails, camping under starry skies, and embracing the simple, profound beauty of life in Glade Park, Colorado. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his warmth and generosity — Jon shared his light freely with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jon will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sandra Lindman; his daughter, Tracy Shanker, and her husband, Michael Shanker, and their two daughters, Jon’s granddaughters, Stella and Natalie Shanker. He was deeply proud of his children, Tracy Shanker and Erik Lindman (1976–2025), and the love he had for his family was limitless and unwavering. Jon will also be deeply missed by his sisters Bonnie Lindman and Barbara Lindman, for whom his light was constant – a presence of kindness, joy, and compassion. Jon is also deeply missed by Ruby, our bright red flame (Red Heeler), who danced her days beside her papa, Jon. Fierce, sweet, and knowing, she and Jon were stitched together in love itself – a quiet joy and a forever bond. Jon also leaves behind many other extended family members and many friends who loved him and shared in his joyful spirit. Jon is predeceased by his father, Allen Lindman, his mother, Lorraine Dombrowski, and his beloved Son, Erik Lindman.
Jon had a rare and beautiful soul. People were drawn to his kindness, his strength, and the easy way he made life feel brighter. His legacy is one of love, positivity, and boundless spirit — a light that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him. Jon’s journey through this world was full of wonder, compassion, and grace. May his memory forever be a beacon of light and love. Although Jon’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Though he has journeyed onward, Jon’s spirit will continue to travel with us: in the wind on a mountaintop, the sun on an open road, and in the quiet peace of a starry night.
A Celebration of Jon’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, located at 2175 Broadway, Grand Junction, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope West in Grand Junction, CO are welcome.
