A Loving Tribute

Jacob “Jack” Walsky

1912 – 1985
Submitted by Lisa J. Case

Jack was born in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of five children. His parents, Minnie & Louis Walsky, emigrated from Russia in the late 1890s. After high school in Brooklyn, Jack attended NYU with the intent of becoming an architect. However, the building of homes appealed to him more than designing them, and he became a supervisor for several single-family home builders in the NY/NJ area. Jack’s military service was spent as a draftsman in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. In 1952, he married Marcia Milkman and, they had one daughter, Lisa Jane. Jack loved to speed skate, snow ski, and play practical jokes on friends and family. Jack was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, his parents, and several of his siblings. He is survived by his daughter and his grand-daughter, Julia, whom he never had the joy of meeting.
