Forget-Me-Not is a grief support group that children and their family members attend together. The group, open to school-age children, teens and adults, provides a safe and caring place to explore grief and its impact on the family.
Forget-Me-Not offers education and support to adults who are parenting grieving kids. Children and teens work in age-specific groups, allowing participants to connect with peers facing similar experiences. Kids process grief through the use of games, art and craft projects and music.
The groups facilitate conversation and sharing between family members through work on projects such as a family quilt, birdhouse, or memory candle. Studies show that the single biggest factor in predicting positive outcome for grieving children is the functioning of their parent after a loss. Grieving parents are guided by an experienced counselor and volunteer in communication and parenting skills that are unique in a family after a loss.
Forget-Me-Not Family Group is free of charge.
