Deakin Harp William Suckow was too perfect for earth.

Our sweetest baby D, our fighter, hero, and heart warrior, brought nothing but joy to our lives. He was the biggest blessing and exactly what we all needed. Although short, his life was filled with so much love and happiness. “That boy lived a perfect life; we’re the only ones that know it was brief; all he knew was us and that we loved him very much” -John Dutton.

Deakin had so many favorite things. He loved all food. After his feeding tube was removed, eating was his favorite activity. His favorite food was mashed potatoes from Starvin Arvin’s; the ladies made sure to have some ready as soon as we walked in the door. They even knew who was calling for a to-go order of mashed potatoes, and they delivered some to our home during his last week with us. His favorite toy was his “moo cow,” which was able to go to heaven with him. Deakin loved his cowboy boots so much that they were only on his feet long enough to take pictures because he would instantly take them off to play with (and chew on them). Deakin thought his mommy was pretty hilarious, especially when she said his full name. Deakin loved to growl. Growling and yelling were his ways of communicating, and he had a different yell/growl for everything.

Deakin was the happiest baby; he rarely cried, was always happy, and was full of smiles and giggles. Deakin’s first word was mama, but his favorite word was dada. He loved everyone, but he especially loved his momma, daddy, sissy Averie, bubba Grayden, his Gigi (Sheila), paps (Harp), Gramma Jessie, Papa Tom, Aunt Mady, and cousins Riley and Maci. He also loved “his” doggies Harper, Nala, Bowbow, and Remi, who loved him back just as much.

We hope you’re dancing in the sky, beautiful boy; we hope you’re giving heaven some trouble and growling/yelling at your big uncle Shane and uncle David; we hope you’re giving them all of your love and them to you. We hope you can feel all of our love up there and hear us when we talk to you. We hope you know how deeply you are loved and missed. We will honor your name in every way possible, continue to include you in every moment, and carry you with us. The angels are so lucky to have you until we meet our beautiful blue-eyed, chubby-cheeked “cowboy” again.
