Thank you to all who wore blue and participated in Children’s Grief Awareness Day activities on November 19. Your support and encouragement make a difference in young lives by showing grieving children and teens that they are not alone.

Our Montrose and Grand Junction offices invited the community to visit Remembrance Trees on display at their offices. Children or teens who have had a loved one die created ornaments or left notes to honor their special person. Others left messages of support and encouragement.

In Delta County, the community participated in a Hope Chain, writing words of wisdom, inspiration, and hope on pieces of paper that were connected together at the end of the day. The final chain reached more than 16 feet! The chain will be shared with grieving children that are supported and cared for in Delta County.

Remember that HopeWest Kids grief support program brings back smiles to children who have lost a loved one. Help our community become more aware of the needs of grieving children and the support that is available to them.
